Pachira Aquatica - Money Tree

Available sizes

The Money Tree, also known as Pachira Aquatica, is a popular houseplant known for its braided trunk and palmate leaves. Here are some care tips for a Money Tree:

☀️ Money Trees prefer bright, indirect light. They can tolerate some direct sunlight, but avoid placing them in intense, direct sun for extended periods as it can scorch the leaves.

💦 Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging, as Money Trees are susceptible to root rot. During winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows down.

🪹 Plant your Money Tree in well-draining soil. A mixture of potting soil, perlite, and sand works well to provide adequate drainage.

🌡️ Money Trees prefer temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Avoid exposing them to temperatures below 50°F (10°C) or sudden temperature fluctuations.

🌧️ Money Trees can tolerate average indoor humidity levels, but they benefit from occasional misting, especially in dry indoor environments.

🥣 Feed your Money Tree with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization frequency or stop altogether during the winter months.

✂️ Trim off any yellow or dead leaves and prune to maintain the desired shape. Pruning also encourages new growth and helps the plant maintain its health.

🪴 Repot your Money Tree every 1-2 years to refresh the soil and provide room for growth. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one (not more than 2” larger)

With proper care and attention to these tips, your Money Tree can thrive and bring a touch of greenery and good fortune to your indoor space.
