Plant Paradise Nursery

4” Pilea Chocolate

Pilea Chocolate is a charming houseplant with textured, chocolate-colored leaves. Here are some care tips for Pilea Chocolate:

☀️ Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. However, it can tolerate lower light conditions.

💦 Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Pilea Chocolate prefers slightly moist soil but is susceptible to root rot if overwatered. Water less frequently during the winter months.

🌧️ Prefers moderate to high humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly or placing the plant on a tray of pebbles filled with water.

🌡️ Keep the plant in a warm environment, ideally between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or sudden temperature drops.

🪹 Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix to ensure good aeration and drainage for the roots.

🥣 Feed your Pilea Chocolate with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half-strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the winter months.

✂️ Trim any leggy growth or yellowing leaves to maintain the plant's shape and appearance.

🌱 Pilea Chocolate can be easily propagated through stem or leaf cuttings. Simply cut a healthy stem or leaf, allow it to callus for a day or two, then place it in a pot with moist soil.

🐾 Friendly Pilea Chocolate is generally considered pet-friendly, but it's always a good idea to monitor your pets around plants and discourage any nibbling.
